The difference begins with the tea itself. Rather than starting with an ordinary black tea and treating decaffeination as an afterthought, we use quality Assam leaves from northern India, chosen for their naturally rich, robust and malty character.
The tea is then decaffeinated using the CO₂ method, a gentle process designed to remove the caffeine while preserving as much of the tea's original character as possible. This allows the depth and flavour of the Assam leaf to remain at the heart of the finished cup.
Once infused, Decaf Breakfast produces a rich, rounded liquor with plenty of body and a smooth malty finish. It has the strength to take a good splash of milk, yet remains balanced enough to enjoy on its own.
For anyone who has found decaffeinated tea disappointing in the past, this is a very different cup. There is no need to sacrifice flavour simply because you want less caffeine – this is first and foremost a quality Assam tea, chosen to taste great.
