Tucked away in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores archipelago is home to one of the world’s most unique tea-growing regions. High in the volcanic hills of São Miguel, where ocean mists roll across mineral-rich slopes, tea has been cultivated for generations in a climate unlike any other in Europe. And now, for a limited time, you can experience this rare taste of island terroir for yourself.
We’re thrilled to introduce our Azores Pekoe, a black tea that’s as smooth as it is bold. Made exclusively from the second leaf beneath the bud, this carefully harvested tea is picked between mid-April and June—just as the leaves reach the perfect stage of maturity. The result is a clean, crisp brew with a rich copper hue. It’s strong enough to take milk, yet so naturally smooth, it doesn’t need it.

What makes this tea even more special is its origin. Grown at Gorreana, Europe’s oldest tea plantation (founded in 1883), our Azores Pekoe is produced without pesticides or herbicides, thanks to the region’s pure air and resilient ecosystem. Gorreana remains a family-run estate, combining traditional Chinese cultivation techniques with 19th-century machinery still in use today. Every cup you drink carries over 140 years of heritage in every sip.
But be warned—stocks are extremely limited. Because this tea is only harvested during a short spring window and sourced directly from the plantation, we have just a small batch available. Once it’s gone, it’s gone until next season.
So if you're looking to try something truly distinctive—a European-grown black tea with exceptional flavour and a fascinating story—now’s your chance.
